Adopt-A-Case Program
|
The Rocky Ford Historical Museum was started by a few individuals who donated their artifacts and and collections. These people kept track of their collections and cases. They knew what was in their collections. These interested individuals helped to keep track of what was in the museum. Our Museum Board would like to develop that kind of interest again. They are setting up a program that will allow interested parties to Adopt-A-Case. These people will take an inventory of their case, the position of the artifacts in the case, clean the case if it needs it. and generally keep track of their case. In addition, a picture will be taken of the case. This information will then be kept in a file with the museum curator.
Anyone that is interested in adopting a case should call the museum at (719)254-6737. If no one answers, please leave a message, and the Museum Curator, Bill Hodges, will contact you. The Museum Board can approve or deny any inquiries about the adoption of a case.
Currently, there are 11 cases that have been adopted, and the firemen wing of the Carriage House has been adopted by the Retired Fireman's Association.
